World History- Sub Day -Russian Revolution and Review for World History

Russian Revolution Assignment: Both assignments will need to be completed in class today.

Assignment 1:
Your first assignment today is to find your character in the following link:

You will find that you will need to look around in the website a bit because different people are different sections. As you do the assignment write down the following questions with answers on page 77 in your notebook.

Create an eulogy (a memorial speech that is given at the funeral of the a person) for your character. You will need to include the following in your eulogy:

+5 major events from your life

+Your involvement in the revolution

+How you died

This should be between a half and full page in your notebook. When you are done, ask the sub for a stamp on your notebook page. You will not get a stamp if you have less than half a page so use your amazing English skills to be detailed and eloquent.

Assignment 2:

Use the information in the notebook to complete the following sentences. You should have these complete because we will go over the answers on Friday. I will pick people at random to share. IF you don’t finish this assignment in class then you will need to complete it for homework so copy down the words or print this post out before you leave the computer lab.

World History- New Ways of Thinking

The Industrial Revolution lead to a lot of changes in society which resulted in new ways of thinking. Some ideas stuck and some ideas failed. Read the attached handout and fill-in the chart using the information from text.
The last column of the chart asks you to come up with a bumper sticker for each of the ways of thinking. Bumper stickers are very clever at expressing a point of view in very few words. Be creative, appropriate and clever.

AP US Government- Campaign Finance

This activity gives you a chance to see locally and nationally what the actual numbers are on campaign finance. Being able to see the real deal will help with creating examples in an FRQ situation. It also helps you better understand the government process and where your donation money goes, if you decide to give one day.

Go to www.opensecrets.org to get your facts.

Copy the following questions into a word document or appleworks document and answer them. When you are done, print it out and hand the sheet over to me (Ms. Talreja). If you don’t finish, have it done by Monday, though it will not get full credit.

NOTE: Though each direction asks you to go to a certain point on the website, feel free to look around and definitely read the introduction on each page because that’s the stuff that will help you remember the ins and outs of campaign finance.
